Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between RVshare and Outdoorsy? +
They are essentially the same but with pros and cons to each as a renter. They are frequently changing up their terms, so check fees and insurance costs at each.
Can I see the motorhome before I rent? +
Yes, please send a direct message to arrange. Keep in mind it's booked out generally back-to-back during the summer and will not likely be available for viewing.
Can you do less than the minimum nights? +
Yes, but you will still be charged for the minimum number of nights; you would just do drop off early.
Does the vehicle prep fee include cleaning? +
No. You will need to bring the motorhome back in the same condition you picked it up aside from the laundry which can be piled on the master bed.
Why is the deposit so high? +
This is just the deductible on the insurance so that in the case of a claim we are covered.
Do I have to pay the Burning Man rate if I'm not destined for Burning Man? +
Yes, it's a rate based more on demand than it is on destination. Burning Manners do have an additional $750 one-time dust cleaning fee.
What time can I pick it up? +
Any time after 3pm unless you've selected the Early Departure option. In some cases, particularly the off season, we can arrange for earlier pickup, but there aren't any guarantees and it may come down to the week of departure due to same-day turnarounds.
What time do I have to drop it off? +
Between 8am and 10am unless you've selected the Late Dropoff option. In some cases, particularly the off season, we can arrange for later dropoff, though we may not know until midway through your trip.
Can I leave a vehicle during my trip? +
Yes, you can leave a vehicle at our house in a secure location.
Can you meet me at the airport or somewhere else? +
We haven't found this practical so no. However, it's a ~$60 rideshare on Uber or Lyft to our house in Newberg, taking between 40 and 60 minutes from PDX depending on traffic.
Can I use my own insurance? +
Possibly. The booking will need to start with the included pay-per-day insurance and can be removed and refunded if adequate insurance coverage is provided.
Is it gas or diesel and what's the gas mileage? +
It's regular gas and you'll average about 8 mpg.
Can I tow with it? +
We allow towing up to 3,000 lbs. We don't provide the ball and there is no electronic brake controller.
Can I drive on dirt roads? +
Up to 1 mile in distance only and no faster than 10 mph. Unfortunately, dirt roads rattle everything loose in a motorhome.
What are the dimensions? +
Majestic: 10' Wide, 30' Long, 12' Tall. FR3: 8.3' Wide, 34' Long, 12.5' Tall.
What size hookup does it need? +
Majestic: 30A to run the air conditioner (15A converter is provided and runs everything except the A/C). FR3: 50A to run both air conditioners (30A connection runs 1 A/C; 15A converter runs everything except A/C).
How many miles does it go on a gas tank? +
Majestic: ~400 miles. FR3: ~600 miles.
What happens if I don't do a very thorough job cleaning or refilling? +
Extra cleaning charges apply at $40/hour if required. Missing fuel is billed at $5/gallon and propane at $7/gallon.
Can I take it in snow? +
Not recommended and we don't provide chains.
Will you train me on how it works and how long will that take? +
Yes! We will go over everything thoroughly, which takes about an hour. When you drop it off, it takes about 15 minutes to complete the return inspection and paperwork.
Are the miles negotiable or do you offer discounts? +
Unfortunately no. Booking platforms take a commission on the rate and we've calculated a close approximation to the true cost of driving a mile in our RV.
What kitchen, bath, bedding, and equipment items are included on board? +
Kitchen: Set of 8 plates, bowls, side dishes, mugs, cups, stemless wine glasses, silverware, cutting board, pans, knives, can opener, corkscrew, colander, cooking utensils, French press coffee maker, dish washing supplies, dish towels, marshmallow roasting sticks, salt & pepper. Bath: RV-safe toilet paper, hand soap, tank treatment, bath towels & washcloths. Bedding: Sheet sets for all 4 beds, 1 Queen quilt, 1 Queen down comforter, extra blankets/throws, 2 pillows. Equipment: 25' drinking water hose, sewage drain hose, small folding table (Majestic).
What should I bring? +
Food & beverages, personal toiletries, clothing for your adventure, extra blankets/pillows if your group exceeds 2 people, camping gear (chairs, headlamps, firewood), and outdoor cooking equipment if desired. Need something extra? Just ask!
What happens if I have an issue on the road? +
If an issue significantly impacts the enjoyability of your trip, we'll give you the option to have it repaired at the closest available location and refund or extend your rental for any time lost.
